Band Camp.
Late July at East Lake.
Two weeks of full-day rehearsal that build the marching band from scratch. New members are coached through every step; returning members rebuild the show. The season starts here.

Camp is hot, long, and outside. Your student will spend most of the day on their feet on the field. Pack like you mean it — and put your student's name on every single thing.
The last day of band camp at 6:30 PM in the football stadium is the Sneak Peek for families and friends. You'll watch a preview of this year's halftime show, then stay for a potluck dinner. Sign up to bring a dish via the SignUp Genius link.
This is the moment band starts to feel like family. Bring a chair, bring a dish, bring grandparents. The students have been working twelve straight days for this.
Pinellas County Schools require ALL band members to complete and submit the full set of PCS forms to be eligible to participate in the band program at East Lake High School. Paperwork includes, among other things, a sports physical (within the last year) signed by your doctor.
The doctor visit is the slow piece — book it before camp. The completed packet can be turned into Mr. Black in the band room, or mailed in. This process takes time, so get started now. Open the forms checklist →
If you are interested in joining the East Lake Marching Band, please contact our band director, Mr. Ian Black, at BlackI@PCSB.org.
The band room is located behind the auditorium and next to the chorus room. Mr. Black's office is connected to the band room — drop by during the school day and he'll find a way to talk.
Book the doctor visit, knock out the forms, label the water jug. Two weeks in late July, and the Silver Sound is back on the field.
