The Concert Band develops students' musicianship in preparation for participation in the Wind Ensemble. The Concert Band also serves as a leadership ground for older students who continue to refine their craft alongside the Wind Ensemble.
The Concert Band is an ensemble which provides students exciting opportunities to develop their musicality in preparation for participation in the Wind Ensemble. Due to the nature of maintaining the Wind Ensemble's size, not all members will be eligible to participate in the group, even if they are qualified. These students will act as mentors and leaders within the Concert Band.
Rehearsals include daily in-class rehearsals, after-school Tuesday/Thursday rehearsals and sectionals, occasional Friday and Saturday rehearsals/performances. Other activities include FBA District MPA, Solo and Ensemble Performances, PRISM concert, graduation rehearsal and performance.
First concert features Concert Band at full strength.
Continued rehearsals and sectional work.
Holiday performances and PRISM concert season.
Students perform individual pieces for assessment.
Full ensemble Music Performance Assessment.
Graduation concert and end-of-year celebration.
In-class daily rehearsal as part of band course.
After-school sectionals and full ensemble rehearsal when applicable.

Concert Band is open to instrumentalists at all ability levels.
